Tissa to be sworn in as Health Minister?

The former General Secretary of the United National Party, Tissa Attanayake, who recently crossed over to the Government, would be sworn in as a Minister this morning (11) before President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Government sources said.

According to these sources, it was probable that the portfolio of the Health Ministry that fell vacant when the former Health Minister, Maithripala Sirisena, went over to the Opposition to be its Common Candidate, would now be given to Mr. Attanayake.

It was learnt that the swearing in would take place at the President’s House in Kandy. (Ajantha Kumara Agalakada)
