Three Sri Lankans arrested for armed robbery in England

Three Sri Lankans have been arrested in England for armed robbery, British media reports said. The three men were arrested after an armed robbery at a cash and carry premises on the Lodge Farm industrial estate in Duston, Northampton.

The manager of the cash and carry premises had been threatened by two men, one of whom had a handgun, mk-news reported. The offenders were unsuccessful in their attempt to steal money from the company safe and only took the victim's mobile phone.

Three men, all Sri Lankan nationals, were arrested on the motorway at Junction 15A, following work by officers and the police helicopter which tracked the white van they were traveling in from Duston to the M1. The suspects have been bailed by Northamptonshire Police pending further enquiries.
