Two Sri Lankan nationals and an Indian were arrested by customs sleuths on Tuesday at the Dabolim international airport for smuggling gold concealed in their rectums.

An official source said that around 4.5 kilograms of gold, valued at around Rs 1.3 crore was recovered from them by a medical team.

The third person is from Kerala. The trio was travelling from Dubai via Mumbai. What aroused suspicion was their walking style as they appeared unconfortable with the precious metal, a source said.

The source said that thin biscuits of the precious metal were wrapped in condoms and concealed in their rectums.
