Thamilchelvan statue removed

The External Affairs Ministry has learnt that the statue, of former LTTE Political wing leader Thamilchelvan erected in a French Town, has been removed from the place it was first erected.

“Our Ambassador in Paris briefed the Mayor and members of the Municipal Council of the town of La Courneuve, about the atrocities committed by Thamilchelvan. He further had extensive discussions with the French Foreign Ministry on this matter,” External Affairs Ministry Director General of Public Communication and Spokesperson Bandula Jayasekara told the Daily Mirror.

La Courneuve, reportedly home to a large Tamil population, erected the statue of Thamilchelvan on the 1st of November this year.  (D.S)
