Thalangama Police OIC together with the Crime OIC, a sergeant and a police constable were arrested by the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) over allegations that they had obtained a bribe of Rs.2 million to obliterate the evidence on the killing of a former police inspector two months ago.

Police spokesman Ajith Rohana said the bribe was allegedly given by the victim’s wife, who is the prime suspect in the killing.

The arrests were made after the bank deposit slip was found by the CCD.
