Temple Trees robbers remanded

Colombo Fort Vacation Court Magistrate remanded three suspects till April 18 for allegedly robbing stationery from the President’s Private Secretaries Office at Temple Trees.

The CID filing a report in court submitted that they initiated investigations to a complaint made by President’s Senior Assistant Secretary Indika Karunajeewa to the OIC of CID N. Abeywardena of the alleged robbery of the stationery by two office peons in the Private Secretaries Office by altering the requisition forms to obtain stationery from the stores at Temple Trees.

 The CID told the Magistrate that the two office peons M.D. Thilina Buddhika, P. Sampath Jayawardena in connivance with the shop owner Namal Manoj Kumara had obtained the stationery and Toners that are using for printing machines from the stores by altering the requisition forms subsequent to signing them by the authorized person and had sold the excess stuff to the shop keeper. The CID moved to remand the suspects as the investigations are pending.

The suspects were charged under the Public Property Act.
