Sunshine comes back

Weather in the country improved today with showers getting less and the temperature in many areas which was at record low last week going up.

Meteorology Department told Daily Mirror that the temperature levels in Colombo, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and flood hit Batticaloa was returning to normal.

Minimum temperature in Colombo stood at 28.8 degrees Celsius while it was 27.8. In Batticaloa it was 25.2. Degrees. Temperature in Anurdhapura was 25 Celsius.

Temperature in many areas was less than 20 degrees last week as a result of a cold wave in India and the extensive cloud cover. Meanwhile the heavy showers  experienced in the North, North Central province, and the Eastern Province were also reported to be less as the as disturbance in atmosphere was reduced. (YP)
