The Power and Energy Ministry today introduced a star rating system and Energy Conservation Label for electrical equipments including fluorescent bulbs, refrigerators, air-conditioners and fans in a bit to save a minimum Rs. 10 billion a year for the CEB.
Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said the energy saving electrical equipments will be sold with a star rating and energy conservation label to ensure their energy serving and eco friendly capacity under the supervision of the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA) that implements the project.
