Video: Sri Lanka turning into a Chinese colony: UNP

The United National Party (UNP) said today President Mahinda Rajapaksa was an agent appointed by the Chinese government like the one appointed to oversee Hong Kong.

“Hong Kong is controlled by China through its appointed representative. This is what is happening to Sri Lanka as well,” UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake said.

He said China was the only country that provided loans to Sri Lanka because other countries were not prepared to do so because of human rights allegations, breakdown of law and order and the lack of good governance.

Mr. Attanayake said Sri Lanka was turning into a Chinese colony and by taking so many loans from China the country was being pawned to the Chinese with several generations of Sri Lankans being forced to pay back the loans taken by the UPFA Government.   (Yohan Perera and Lahiru Pothmulla)
