Spinner Nathan Lyon joined an exclusive list of players as Sri Lanka stumbled its way to 54 for the loss of 3 wickets on the second day of the first test against Australia at the Galle International Stadium.

Debutant Lyon struck with his first ball in test cricket, when he Kumar Sangakkara caught by Michale Clarke for 10, becoming just the 12th bowler to achieved this rare feat.

Having bowled out the visitors yesterday for 273, Sri Lanka began their innings this morning, and were instantly in trouble as Tillakaratne Dilshan was brilliantly caught by Ricky Ponting becoming Trent Copeland's first test wicket, off just his second delivery.

Sangakkara was next to go and was soon joined by Mahela Jayawardene who was run-out for 11 as the hosts toiled against the turn and bounce.

Thilan Samaraweera and opener Tharanga Paranavitharana were at the crease at lunch, 7 and 17 respectively. (S. M. D.)
