Speeding vehicle kills 1 injures 6

A vehicle belonging to a supporter of a Minister crashed into four other vehicles at the Bandaragama town killing one person and injuring 6 others. The vehicle was believed to be speeding at the time of the accident.

A lady who was injured in the accident that occurred late last night succumbed to her injuries this morning while at least 3 others are believed to be in critical condition.

Two motorcycles, a buddy –truck, and a trishaw were extensively damaged when the speeding vehicle lost control and collided head on with the vehicles from the opposite direction and overturned.

Meanwhile one journalist who covered the accident was allegedly threatened by supporters a Minister following the accident telling them not to report the incident.  (KC)
