The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today accused the breakaway Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) of looking for cheap publicity by making false allegations against the mainline JVP.

“The FSP allegation that the JVP had teamed up with the government was baseless and without an iota of truth,” JVP General Secretary Tivin Silva said. Mr. Siva said the breakaway group was making false allegations to win public sympathy as it had miserably failed in its insidious attempts to take over the JVP.

“The FSP claim that they have grabbed power in 16 districts has been proven wrong as was unable to even muster a thousand members for this year’s May Day rally,” he said and added that this group had to buy over another party to get itself registered.

“The FSP is a write off and not worth speaking about,” Mr. Silva said.(Yohan Perera)
