SLC says its arms were not twisted

Sri Lanka Cricket today, refuted claims to the effect that it had been ‘arm twisted’ by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) into shelving a report that was presented by the Sri Lankan board on misdemeanors which occurred during the Indian Cricket teams tour of Sri Lankan in 2010.

“Sri Lanka Cricket read with surprise, an account of an incident that supposedly lead to the filing of an anti- corruption report during the Indian tour of Sri Lanka in 2010 and the subsequent withdrawal of the said report due to 'arm twisting' by the BCCI” SLC said.

Sri Lanka Cricket further said that the allegations that have followed are not “pertinent”, while emphasising that no such report was presented.

“We wish to state that such an incident did not take place as alleged and no report was submitted to the Indian Team Manager nor was an incident report filed with the Anti Corruption Unit of the ICC who were present during then series. The allegations that follow are therefore not pertinent”
