SL to share military skills with Uganda

Sri Lanka is to share its military know how with Uganda and also to provide specialized training to Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF), media reports said.

Uganda President Yoweri Museveni has held talks with the visiting Sri- Lanka Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajabaksa.

The meeting at State House Entebbe on Monday was also attended by Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Uganda Vellupillai Kananathan.

The President and Mr. Rajapaksa discussed bilateral relations including co-operation in the areas of military and defence.

The two countries further discussed sharing experience on military operations, sharing experience on disaster and offering specialized training to UPDF.

Others at the meeting included state minister for defence Jeje Odong and Lt Gen. Charles Angina   while Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Roshan Gunatilake and Major General Shavendra Silva accompanied Rajabaksa. (News and Picture curteacy New Vision)
