Sri Lanka lost two crucial wickets in the first session of the third day, as they reached 250 for four, at lunch on the third day of the third test against Australia at the SSC.

Resuming on their overnight score of 166, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene continued playing with fluency as they scored yet another 100-run partnership at the SSC. Jayawardene was soon out though, as he played at one outside his off-stump and was caught behind for 51. Sangakkara was the next man dismissed as he was also caught behind -- the fourth delivery with the second new ball.

Under-fire skipper Tilakaratne Dilshan who was dropped down the order following a poor run of form looked a little nervy, before playing some aggressive strokes to end the first session on 29. Angelo Mathews was also at the crease and was on 15.
