SL doctors complete dengue treatment training for Pakistani doctors

Sri Lankan doctors completed the training of a team of medical professionals from Pakistan today on the treatment of Dengue patients, Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena said in Parliament today.

The Minister said that Sri Lanka’s health authorities had gained some kind of expertise in the treatment of Dengue patients and in the prevention of the spread of the disease.

He said that the Ministry had been able to reduce the number of Dengue patients and fatalities this year.

In 2010, 22,926 patients and 241 deaths were reported. However, only 22,926 patients and 163 deaths have been reported this year. (Kelum Bandara and Yohan Perera)
