SEC Chairperson tenders resignation

The Chairperson of Securities and Exchange Commission, Indrani Sugathadasa has tendered her resignation to the Treasury Secretary this morning on policy issues.
 
“Upholding my principles I decided to tender my resignation. But so far I haven’t received any communication from the Treasury Secretary,” Sugathadasa said.
 
When asked about whether the present SEC Commissioners will also resign with her she said that it would be their call and she has nothing to do with it.
 
According to market sources, former Member of Parliament leading entrepreneur Tilak Karunaratne is tipped to be the next SEC Chiarman.
