Cabinet media spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella said today the President had instructed the Ministers of Education and Justice to inquire into the case of the 13-year-old schoolgirl who was arrested for stealing 10 coconuts.

She is alleged to have stolen the coconuts to raise Rs.800 that her school authorities had asked for to paint the classroom walls. She was yesterday released on a surety bail of Rs.50,000 by the Horana Acting Magistrate Manel Gunatilake.
