School transport services to be registered

It is compulsory for all the vans and buses in the country to be registered with the National Transport Commission the NTC chairman Roshan Gunawardana said. It has also been decided to introduce a uniform for drivers of the school vans and buses.
 
This decision has been taken in consultation with the three associations of the school transport vehicles owners in a meeting held on February 18 on the instruction of the Private Transport Services Minister C.B.Rathnayaka the chairman further stated.
 
About 20 representatives from All Ceylon Inter Provincial School Children Transport Services Association, the All Ceylon School Children Transport Association and the Community Police Security Lanka Association have agreed to these measures after the discussions. (Ajith Lal Shanthaudaya)
