Video: School temporarily closed due to jumbo threat

Malwatta Thissapura Vidyalaya in Ampara in which there are about 450 students, was temporarily closed today as a herd of wild elephants entered the school premises.

About five elephants are said to be hiding in a thicket of one-and-a-half acres belonging to the school. Police and wildlife officers arrived at the school to chase away the elephants. (Wasantha Chandrapala)
