Salary hike for domestic drivers

DOHA: Some recruitment offices have raised the salaries of family drivers from India, Sri Lanka and Nepal who are supplied for working with households.
Their salaries in different categories have been raised by QR500, a local Arabic daily reported yesterday. An Indian driver with no previous work experience will have to be paid a monthly salary of QR900 and the recruiting office will take QR1,800as service fee.

A driver with experience in a Gulf country will get QR1,200  and the office will charge QR2,300 as service fee. The minimum salary of an Indian driver  who has a Qatari driving license has been fixed at QR1,500  while the service fee in this case will be QR2,800.
