Former Australian cricket star and sacked Sri Lanka national cricket coach Geoff Marsh has sent a letter of demand to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said Upali Dharmadasa, President of SLC yesterday.

“Marsh had sent us a letter of demand three weeks ago. We have referred it to our legal department to check the matter out and deal with it,” said Dharmadasa.

SLC sacked Marsh and replaced him with South African Graham Ford in January this year as part of a major shake-up after the national team's poor run of results.

Marsh was the third coach appointed by SLC since Australian Trevor Bayliss stepped aside after the World Cup final in April that year.

Marsh who assumed duties with the Sri Lanka team only in September last year was in charge for just four months when his two-year contract with SLC was shockingly terminated. – (C de S)
