The Colombo Additional Magistrate today directed the Controller of the Immigration and Emigration to prevent former DIG Vaas Gunawardena’s son Ravindu from leaving the country.

Filing a motion before Colombo Additional Magistrate Mohamed Shahabdeen, the CID requested Court to direct the Controller of the Immigration and Emigration to stop Ravindu Gunawardena, a suspect in the killing of businessman Shyam, from leaving the country. The CID asked Court to also direct the Controller of the Immigration and Emigration to inform the CID Special Crimes Unit if he attempted to leave the country.

 The CID said DIG Vaas Gunawardena’s son Ravindu is a suspect wanted in the killing of businessman Shyam, whose body was found in a thicket at Dompe. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
