Following the fresh leadership crisis in the party, UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe had decided to cut short his visit to the UK and rush back to Sri Lanka, MP John Amaratunga said today.

Mr. Wickremesinghe was to return to the country on August 3, 2011.   However, Mr. Amaratunga said that his leader would arrive in the country tomorrow  to look into the crisis that emerged after deputy leader Karu Jayasuriya expressed his willingness to take up the leadership.

Shortly after expressing his willingness to take over the leadership, Mr. Jayasuriya left for India and he is yet to return.
