UNP National Leader Ranil Wickramesinghe challenged President Mahinda Rajapaksa for a debate on the critical issues faced by the country and its people.

He threw this challenge while speaking at a meeting organised by the Rakwana UNP electoral organisation, at the Farm Land Hotel, in Godakawela on Saturday.

“I can prove to the country the failure of the government to reduce the cost of living and give relief to the people. I can also prove the collapse of free education and free healthcare services in the country. Further, I can    prove the government’s failure in preserving democracy, law and order and the rule of law among other social issues, He said.

“I don’t know if the President will agree to this challenge. If such a debate is arranged, I’ll prove that the President has already electrocuted the people on a chair.(Sujith Mangala De Silva)
