Rainfall reducing

Rainfall in the Eastern Province has reduced, while heavy showers were reported from Pottuvil and Badulla, more thunder showers can be expected island wide from time to time, the Meteorological Department told Daily Mirror online.

The Met Department officials added that weather system that was affecting Sri Lanka was stationary and although the rain had reduced its effects had not diminished. Batticaloa received a rainfall of 21mm while the highest rainfall of 31mm, during the last 24 hours was recorded from Kaudulla, Polonnaruwa.

The Western Province is likely to experience thunder showers this evening and tomorrow morning, the Met Dept. said. (Daily Mirror online)
