The railway strike launched by the Professional Railway Trade Union Alliance (PRTUA) was temporarily called off today and train services will resume at 7 a.m. tomorrow.

PRTUA President Janaka Fernando said they decided to call off trade union action following the court order.

He said Treasury Secretary P. B. Jayasundara had met trade union leaders and assured his fullest support to resolve their issue.

Mr. Fernando said they would resume their trade union action unless the authorities take steps to resolve their issues. (Sanath Desmond and  Ajith Siriwardena)
