The Public Services United Nurses’ Union (PSUNU), the biggest nurses union comprising 95% of all nurses in the country, today warned the government that it would go on strike next month if the authorities did not implement the service minutes and other demands made by the union.

PSUNU President Mruththettuwe Ananda Thera said the union had held discussions with the Finance Ministry officials on Wednesday requesting to grant the union’s demands. “We are confident that they will fulfill the recommendations made by us. If not we will surely go on strike,” he said. (Olindhi Jayasundere)
