Parliament was adjourned for five minutes today when opposition members including the JVP and UNP staged a protest in the well of the House over the court martial decision on Sarath Fonseka.

The first court martial found Fonseka guilty of involvement in political work while in active service and was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge.

President Mahinda Rajapakse had on Saturday given the authorization for the first court martial sentence. (YP)
