An inmate of the Matara prison who was believed to have died during the Tsunami in 2004 was arrested by the police while conducting English tuition classes, police spokesman SSP I.M Karunaratne told Daily Mirror online. He had escaped when the prison wall collapsed during the tsunami five years ago.

He was an English Diploma holder and was making use of that to teach English during the past few years in several areas. He was imprisoned for several crimes committed by him in Matara, Gampaha and the Kurunagala areas, the police spokesman added.
