Former government peace secretariat head Bernard Gunatillaka, speaking today at the Lessens Learnt Commission on the war, said that some pro-LTTE groups are collecting funds from the Tamil Diaspora claiming that the Tiger leader is alive.

He said that these groups are collecting funds using documents with the signature of the LTTE leader Vellupillai Prabakaran who was killed during the war in May last year.

The Lessons Learnt Commission appointed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa to look at the war which ended last year began public hearings in Colombo today.
