Power cut from Sept. 12 to 24

The electricity supplies to several areas in the Western Province - south and Southern Province would be terminated for a duration of two hours at a time operating rotationally in different areas from September 12 to 24 starting 8.30 am to 10.30 pm in order to facilitate the construction work of the Colombo Outer Circular Highway, the Ceylon Electricity Board said today

“In order to facilitate the construction work of the Colombo Outer Circular Highway near Kaduwela, both circuits of the CEB’s Biyagama - Pannipitiya transmission line needs to be disconnected from September 12 to 24, 2013,” it said.

As a result of the disconnection, rotational power cuts would be imposed on the areas of Horana, Kalutara, Matuguama, Bandaragama, Sri Jayewardenepura, Homagama, Ratmalana, Dehiwala and Ambalangoda.

The CEB said the actual duration of interruptions may be reduced depending on the actual demand and the prevalent weather conditions.
