The police are investigating the possibility of a racket to send children overseas following the discovery of an abducted child from Marawila today.
Police say they are looking for more suspects who may have been involved in the abduction in order to investigate if there is a racket to smuggle children out of the country.
Two and a half year old Senuthi Maapalagama was rescued by the police in Marawila today after she was abducted from the Kelaniya Temple on Sunday.
According to the police, the looks of the child had been altered by her kidnappers, in a possible attempt to smuggle her overseas. (Daily Mirror online)
