Police looking for shooter in Kilinochchi

Police search operations are being carried out with the assistance of the Army in the Kilinochchci area to arrest a suspect who has escaped after shooting one of the police officers today, police said.
The suspect, who is believed to be an ex-LTTEr, had aimed gunfire at the police officer when a police team from Colombo attempted to arrest the suspect over a case.
Sources said some weapons were recovered from the location where the suspect had stayed in Dharmapuram, Kilinochchi.
