Police and forensics experts are investigating an incident where some 80 civilians, an army officer and a TID Inspector had been burnt to death at Mullaitivu during the height of the war.

Police said investigations were being carried out on information gathered when interrogating four former LTTE suspects arrested by the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) recently.

The direction to investigate this matter was issued after a magisterial inquiry was held at the site.

Police said the investigations would be completed in two weeks.(DS)
