The police today denied that they have been given a “list” containing names of supporters of opposition candidate Sarath Fonseka to be arrested. We have no knowledge of such a list, police spokesman SSP I.M Karunaratne told Daily Mirror online.

A website report alleged that there was a list of names circulating via email and that they were to be taken into custody by the police and other authorities under false charges. Presidential candidate General Sarath Fonseka, speaking to reporters this morning, also claimed there was such a “list” in circulation.
