Prime Minister D.M Jayaratna, who assumed duties at the Prime Minister's office this morning, called for unity among all the political parties in order to defeat international pressure and develop the country which has seen the end of a more than 30 year conflict with the LTTE.

The Premier noted that if all the political parties join forces while having their own political agendas then outside pressure can be defeated and the country can also develop.

Prime Minister Jayaratna also said that Sri Lanka has a lot of potential if the people work together and can even go “beyond the moon”.

“This post is not mine but given by people so the people have the right to protect my post,” Prime Minister D.M Jayaratna further added. (Daily Mirror online)
