Pera undergrads suspended for ragging

Thirty three students of the Peradeniya University had been suspended indefinitely over a ragging incident, the University administration said today.

Disciplinary Officer of the Peradeniya University Dr. Asoka Dangalla said that 33 students from the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences were involved in the ragging incident.

The university’s administration had conducted a disciplinary inquiry regarding the incidents, he said.

He further said 25 students of the second year including eight female students and eight students of the third year were among the suspended students.(DS)
