With the onset of south-west monsoonal rains in several areas, people living in six districts prone to landslides have been advised to be cautious in the coming days due to risks of earth slips or landslides.

Disaster Management Centre Deputy Media Director Sarath Lal Perera said the people living in high risk zones in these districts should be extra vigilant about landslides.
Among the vulnerable districts are Kegalle, Ratnapura, Nuwara Eliya, Kalutara, Galle and Matara.

He also said people living on either side of the Hatton-Awissawella road should also be extra cautious about impending dangers due to bad weather conditions. (Sanath Desmond)
