Video: PC polls will mark defeat of Govt - UNP

The main opposition UNP said today the Government would not last for long andthe forthcoming provincial council elections would be the beginning of the end of the Government.

UNP media spokesman and Galle District MP Gayantha Karunathilake told a news conference that the Government was wasting the people’s money and burdening them with the high cost of living.
“With a huge burden on the people and the way the government is wasting public funds, it won’t be long before the Government is defeated. It will learn a bitter lesson at thePC elections where the first cannon will be fired,” he said.

Mr. Karunathilake outlined the problems faced by Sri Lankans and said the Government failed to solve them or provide sufficient relief to the suffering people. He said the UNP was confident that the people would make the right choice at the forthcoming elections. (Nishan Casseem)
