PC interdicted on rape charge

A Police Constable of Girandurukotte Police who had allegedly raped a twenty year old sales girl had been taken into custody, police sources said.

It is alleged that the constable had taken the victim to a house near Sorabora Reservoir in Mahiyangana, and had committed the crime.

The suspect had already been placed under interdiction and Girandurukotte Police are conducting investigations guided by SSP-  Badulla, Ananda Wijesuriya. (Palitha Ariyawansa)
