UK man nabbed over Feb 4 incident

A suspected LTTE supporter was arrested in London, over his involvement in an incident at the Sri Lankan High Commission on February 4th where a group had attempted to burn the Sri Lankan flag, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rohitha Bogollagama told to Daily Mirror Online. 

According to the Foreign Ministry On the 4th of February a group of people from the Sri Lankan Diaspora had caused havoc in front of the consulate by attempting to burn Sri Lankan flags. However the British Police had successfully defused the situation.

According to Foreign Ministry sources this was a joint attempt by supporters of the LTTE and the JVP, in London. The individual arrested in connection to the incident is believed to be a supporter of the LTTE.

The Foreign Minister said that he had instructed the High Commission in London to look into the situation further and bring the perpetrators to book.
