Old diabetic flour taken seized by CPA

The officials of the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) had taken into custody 1000 packets of flour used by diabetics with labels altered fraudulently at Spencer Street in Colombo 12, last Friday.

CPA officials said that labels had been altered extending the date of expiry by one more year.

The packets, 200 grams each and sold at Rs. 300, were sought by diabetics, officials said.

The raid was conducted on information received from the Jaffna branch of the CPA following a raid it conducted on June 26.
