The National Collective Against the Provincial Councils System (NCAPCS) today said the decision of the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) appointed to look into the 13th Amendment should be revealed before the upcoming Northern Provincial Council elections

“The government promised to amend two clauses of the 13th Amendment. But because of either the influence of India or some other force, the government is silent over the issue now, leaving it to the PSC. We have no faith in the PSC as it has no time frame or action plan. If the decision of the PSC will not be made known before the upcoming election, we will take every possible action against the 13th Amendment,” said National Sangha Federation Secretary Ven. Dombagoda Sarananda Thera. .
Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera said this government paid no heed to the stance of the prelates of all the 3 chapters and other patriot groups but was acting according to the needs of foreign forces like India.

“There had been a lot of campaigns against the 13th Amendment so far. We ask the government if this is not enough. Do they want us to surround Temple Trees?” Ven. Gnanasara Thera said.

The National Unity against Provincial Councils is an organization formed to fight against provincial council system consisting of Bodu Bala Sena, Jathika Sanga Sammelanaya and Sihala Ravaya.(Ajith Siriwardana & Jayasika Padmasiri)
