Investigations are currently underway regarding the robbery of Rs. 70 million from a private bank vehicle which was passing through Peliyagoda. No suspects have been arrested yet, police spokesman SP Preshantha Jayakody told Daily Mirror online.
Rs 2.5 million reward was also offered for any person who gives information that leads to the arrests of the armed gang that robbed the bank vehicle. Any information regarding the robbery can be notified to the police through special telephone numbers – 011-2662311, 011-2662323, 011-2685151
The Five special police teams setup under the instructions of the IGP Mahinda Balasuriya are conducting the investigations. (Daily Mirror online)
