No price hike - CEB

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) today denied media reports of a possible electricity tariff hike subsequent to a price hike of heavy fuel sold by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to the CEB.

Power and energy ministry media secretary Dhanukshka Ramanayake told Daily Mirror Online a short while ago that since substitute power generation options are currently being prepared including coal, wind and solar they would no longer depend solely on power generated through heavy oil for electricity generation.  (Lakna Paranamanna)
