The two bodies of the UAE citizens who died in Wattala are to be flown to the UAE today. No postmortems were carried on the bodies due to a special request made to the Sri Lanka government, the sources said.

Meanwhile, emirates247 news agency reported, bodies of the wife and son of Emirati citizen Mohammed Ali Al Mazrouei will be flown to the UAE aboard a plane sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Colombo.

HamadSaeed Al Shamsi, Director of Operations at the Ministry, said the plane was expected to arrive early Friday, carrying the two bodies, along with the recovering Al Mazrouei and a number of his family members.

He added investigations were underway by the Sri Lankan authorities to establish reasons of the poisoning which led to the death of Al Mazrouei's wife and small child. The UAE embassy in Colombo is closely following the investigations.

Meanwhile the Police said that the request made by the Ambassador for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Sri Lanka was considered by the Wattala Magistrate and it was ordered to hand the two bodies that of the mother, Obera Ali (22) and the child Al Mohammed (1year and six months) to the Embassy.

The post mortems were not performed either, the police said. Earlier the Magistrate ordered the Judiciary Medical Officer (JMO) of the Ragama General Hospital to conduct the post mortem and report him.

The post mortems were to be performed on Thursday but the relatives opposed it, the police said today. Police asserted that investigations revealed that they had not consumed any food after the family arrived in Sri Lanka on Tuesday evening from Dubai.

They were staying at the Ramada Hotel in Seeduwa at the time they were admitted to the hospital with sick condition, the police said. Police media spokesman Ajith Rohana said that the 24-year old husband identified as Mohammad Ali Obaid Al Mazroui is now in a stable condition will also fly with the two bodies. “Without the post mortem report we cannot proceed with the investigations,” he said.
