The epidemiology unit of the health ministry says there was no outbreak of any water borne disease so far as a result of the heavy rain and flooding experienced in many parts of the country since early last week.
As for now there were no reports of any outbreak of water borne diseases, Chief of the Epidemiology unit of the Health Ministry Dr. Paba Palihawadana said. However the health authorities say that there is a possibility of the spread of dengue.
When contacted, officials at the national hospitals in Colombo and Galle also said that there were no outbreaks of any water borne disease.
