No Lankans affected-SL

The government said that no loss of life or casualties among the Sri Lankans living in Italy, have been reported due to the earthquake that struck on Sunday.
“According to the initial reports that the Embassy of Sri Lanka received from the Civil Protection Agency of Italy and the Sri Lankan community in the affected areas, no loss of life or casualties among the Sri Lankans have been reported,” the External Affairs ministry said.

It also said that the ministry and the Sri Lanka Embassy in Rome, Italy monitor the situation in the aftermath of the Earthquake in Bolonga and Modena.
However, the ministry said that it has instructed the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Rome has been instructed to closely monitor the developments and assist the Sri Lankans, if affected, in all the means possible.

The Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of External Affairs will render all possible assistance to the public to obtain information about their next of kin in the affected areas, it added.
