United People’s Freedom Alliance had no issues if former President Mahinda Rajapaksa wanted to contest on UPFA ticket, the alliance said yesterday.

Issuing a statement, UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayantha said that all coalition partners of the UPFA had decided to work collectively at the upcoming Parliamentary elections.

“As reported in the media former President Mahinda Rajapaksa had told that he would enter active politics through the UPFA and as a political alliance we don’t have any issues with that and if he wanted to enter active politics he can represent the UPFA,” the statement said.
